Formatting drives
If you have swap, drive 1 will be boot, 2 will be SWAP, 3 will be root / home
If you do not do swap 1 will be boot, 2 will be root / home
- Swap
mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda3
mkswap /dev/sda2
mkfs.fat -F 32 /dev/sda1
- No swap
mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda2
mkfs.fat -F 32 /dev/sda1
Mount drives
- Swap
mount /dev/sda3 /mnt
mount --mkdir /dev/sda1 /mnt/boot/efi
swapon /dev/sda2
- No swap
mount /dev/sda2 /mnt
mount --mkdir /dev/sda1 /mnt/boot/efi

Install needed items
pacstrap -K /mnt base base-devel linux linux-firmware linux-headers -
Generate fstab
genfstab -U /mnt >> /mnt/etc/fstab
System configuration and installation

Chroot
arch-chroot /mnt -
sn link time zone and sync clock
ln -sf usr/share/zoneinfo/America/New_York /etc/localtime
hwclock --systohc
- install micro, edit, then generate locale
sudo pacman -S micro
micro /etc/locale.gen
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
locale-gen
- hostname
micro /etc/hostname

Initramfs
mkinitcpio -P -
Root password
passwd -
GRUB + other needs
pacman -S grub os-prober efibootmgr dhcpcd
grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=grub
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
- Add a user
useradd -m user
passwd user
usermod -aG wheel user
micro /etc/sudoers
at the bottom uncomment %wheel ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL
Install complete
- Reboot
exit
umount -R /mnt
reboot
- turn on dhcpcd and enable it in systemd
dhcpcd
sudo systemctl enable dhcpcd
- paru
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/paru.git
cd paru
makepkg -si
- mango
